We early childhood teachers are knee deep in teaching the alphabet! Every time I think of the alphabet I think of my son watching Alphabet Power by Blue's Clues! B-B-B-B-B-B-B-Blues Clues!
So how do you make the letters meaningful and fun? Here's what I do!
We do a cooking activity for every letter of the alphabet! For S this week we made a Sunflower Snack with banana slices petals, a sugar cookie center, raisin seeds and "food glue" (vanilla frosting) to stick everything together! Next week it is Mud Pies! Our Fridays are very tasty and puts a great exclamation mark on the letter of the week.
